The France Florida Foundation for the Arts is looking for an intern for a period of 6 months. Position available as soon as possible.

About the Organization

France Florida Foundation for the Arts (FFFA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 by a group of American and French culture lovers, with the support of the Consulate General of France in Miami and the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the USA.


The FFFA seeks to further develop relations between France and Florida by raising funds for the following objectives:

  • To encourage all forms of cultural and educational cooperation between French and Floridian institutions and individuals;
  • To encourage the study and use of the French language, in dialogue with other languages in Florida such as Spanish and English ;
  • To increase awareness about francophone culture and diversity in general.


The FFFA strives to achieve these objectives by supporting French visual and performing arts (applied arts, music, film, contemporary art, theatre), through concerts, performances, exhibitions, but also educational projects, conferences or cultural workshops.
The Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the United States play an important role proposing cultural and educational projects to the FFFA. It is represented by ex-officio (non-voting) members at the Board.
Its governing board is composed of American and French volunteers resident in the state of Florida, who support the organization’s mission and objectives through fundraising and expertise.

About the Internship

The FFFA intern will work closely with the Board members and ex-officio members, to help implement its key mission and objectives, through active fundraising efforts and administrative support.

Main tasks:

1. Fundraising

  • Organize a fundraising event early October 2018 (objective: 30.000$ minimum)
  • Identify, research and contact local and international businesses/individuals for donations
  • Follow-up relations with donors and sponsors


2. Membership administration

  • Identify and reach out to new members
  • Follow-up on memberships ​​


3. Web design and communication

  • Communicate on FFFA events
  • Update website when necessary
  • Develop marketing/communication tools and strategy 

Profile:

  • Graduate or undergraduate in Business Administration, Marketing and/or Communication
  • Good understanding ofFrench, Spanish is a plus
  • Experience in fundraising a plus
  • Open to challenge
  • Great ability for teamwork


Skills:

  • Expert in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe
  • Graphic design, including Photoshop and web-design
  • Good skills in digital communication and social media
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills


Information :

  • Long term internship (6 months), as soon as possible, part-time
  • Located in the offices of the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in Miami/ Consulate general of France in Miami (Brickell district)
  • Financial compensation for transportation: 100$ month.
